How to Co-Wash Your Extensions and Wigs

Co-washing before the installment is an essential step to cleanse the hair and add moisture, shine, and luster. It allows the hair to bounce back into its flawlessness for your install. ✨

Steps:

  1. Wash your hair with lukewarm water and use a sulfate-free moisturizing conditioner. Do not wash your new hair with shampoo at this stage as it might strip the natural moisture out of the hair.
  2. Comb through your hair with conditioner using a wide-tooth comb.
  3. Let your hair soak and sit in the conditioner for at least 5 minutes (longer if needed).
  4. Rinse your extensions with warm (not hot) to cool water to make the hair absorb the moisture.
  5. Air dry the hair.
  6. Install your beautiful hair and enjoy it! 😊

We do not suggest shampooing your hair unless there are too many build-ups on the hair cuticles weighing down the hair. Please use sulfate-free shampoos and always follow with deep conditioning. 💧

How to Co-Wash Your Lace Wigs

Co-washing your wigs before wearing them will ensure that you have the most flawless hair. Although under great protection and inspection, our wigs might sit in the factory warehouse for a while before they can be shipped out to you. Co-washing your hair will bring liveliness back to the hair and rid it of any warehouse substances and disinfectants. 🌟

For Straight and Soft Wavy Textures:

  • Gently comb through any tangles that may be caused by product transportation.
  • Do not comb through or use fingers to comb out tight wavy hair and curly textures.
  • Do not uncoil curlier hair without hair products as it will cause breakage.

Steps:

  1. Use lukewarm water and wet the hair. Take a small amount of sulfate-free, hair extensions-friendly mild conditioner in your hands and work it evenly into the hair.
  2. Avoid applying conditioner at the base of the scalp as the hair is hand-tied onto the lace, and conditioner can loosen up the knots on the cap, causing your wig to shed.
  3. For curlier textures, gently uncoil or detangle the hair while it is fully saturated with conditioner. Remember to only use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to brush the hair gently. Brushing vigorously will cause excessive shedding.
  4. Rinse the hair with cool water.
  5. Rinse with warm water from the inside of the cap.
  6. Use a towel to soak up the excessive water. Do not use a blow-dryer as it will damage your hair and the cuticles. Do not twist the towel with hair in it.
  7. Place your hair flat in a ventilated place and avoid direct sun exposure and high temperature.
  8. Wait for the hair to dry completely before you try to comb it again, as combing through wet hair is known to cause shedding and tangling.
